Conditions We Treat in Calgary
Pain, stiffness, tingling or changes in how you move can affect everything from work and sleep to exercise and time with family. At Memorial Drive Chiropractic and Massage, we see people with a variety of musculoskeletal concerns and take the time to understand how their symptoms are affecting everyday life.
Common Conditions We See
- Arthritis: Joint stiffness and discomfort can make everyday movement more difficult. Chiropractic care may be considered as part of an approach focused on joint mobility, movement and function.
- Back Pain: From prolonged sitting and repetitive lifting to strains and other injuries, back pain can have many possible causes. An assessment can help identify factors that may be related to your symptoms.
- Carpal Tunnel Syndrome: Tingling, numbness, wrist or hand pain, and changes in grip can occur when the median nerve is compressed at the wrist. We assess your symptoms and related musculoskeletal factors.
- Disc Issues: Bulging, herniated or degenerative disc changes may be associated with back or neck pain, stiffness, numbness, tingling or radiating discomfort.
- Headaches: Some headaches may be associated with neck tension, posture or other musculoskeletal factors. We consider your history and presentation when determining whether chiropractic care may be suitable.
- Migraines: Migraine is a complex neurological condition. For patients with migraines, we can assess whether accompanying neck or musculoskeletal concerns may also need attention.
- Neck Pain: Desk work, repetitive movements, injuries and other everyday demands can all affect how your neck feels and moves.
- Plantar Fasciitis: Heel and foot pain can interfere with walking, work and exercise. Assessment may include looking at foot mechanics, movement and other contributing musculoskeletal factors.
- Sciatica: Irritation or compression involving the sciatic nerve can cause pain, tingling or numbness that travels from the lower back into the buttock or leg.
- Scoliosis: Scoliosis involves an abnormal sideways curvature of the spine. Chiropractic care does not correct every spinal curve, but may be considered for associated musculoskeletal symptoms and function.
- Shoulder Pain: Shoulder discomfort may stem from the joint itself or involve surrounding muscles, movement patterns or other areas of the body.
- Tech Neck: Hours spent looking at computers, tablets and phones can contribute to neck tension, stiffness and posture-related discomfort.
- TMJ Dysfunction: Jaw pain, stiffness or clicking can have several causes. Assessment can help determine whether related musculoskeletal factors may be involved.
- Whiplash: A sudden acceleration-deceleration injury, commonly associated with a motor vehicle collision, can affect the neck and surrounding tissues. Individual assessment helps determine appropriate care.
