Dealing with an injury or managing ongoing discomfort is stressful enough. Chasing insurance reimbursements on top of it shouldn’t be part of the experience. At Memorial Drive Chiropractic and Massage, we offer direct billing to most major insurance providers to help make using your benefits more straightforward without the paperwork headache.
How Direct Billing Works
When you have extended health coverage, direct billing means we submit your claim to your insurer directly at the time of your visit. Rather than paying the full cost upfront and waiting for a cheque in the mail, your eligible benefits may be applied at the time of your visit and you’re only responsible for any remaining balance your plan doesn’t cover. It’s a simple process, and our team handles the details.
What We Can Direct Bill
We direct bill for most of our core services, and the process is a little different depending on what you’re coming in for.
For chiropractic care, no prescription is required to direct bill. For massage therapy, some insurance plans require a prescription from a medical doctor before your first appointment. Requirements vary by provider and we can help confirm what’s needed once we review your coverage, where that information is available.
For orthotics, we’re able to direct bill for the assessment, though not the orthotics themselves. Some providers may require an MD prescription before processing an orthotics claim. For other insurers, coverage depends on your employer’s specific plan and your HR team can confirm those details.

Insurance coverage can be genuinely confusing, and we don’t expect you to navigate it alone. Our team can help check your benefits where available, walk you through what is and isn’t covered under your plan, and assist with any required documentation. If you were injured in a motor vehicle accident, we can also guide you through the MVA claims process.
If direct billing isn’t available with your particular provider, we’ll provide a detailed receipt you can submit for reimbursement on your own.
